Planet Grime – Narratives LP –
Grime Legends Saskilla and Ten Dixon have teamed up with a collective American Grime, featuring artists Jumanji, Dos, 3i Joe, Mixbreed and Krimz to create a new album under the group name Planet Grime that fuses UK culture with American culture.
The album, titled “Narratives”, is a mixture of 140bpm hard-hitting beats with sharp lyrics. There is a sense of humour and playfulness throughout the LP .
“Narratives” touches on a variety of subjects; from light-hearted topics like “momma jokes” on “Marge”; to more serious themes like life lessons and perceptions on other people. The track “Gotham City” is a tribute to any city’s dark and gritty atmosphere, especially London, while “Dem Ones” is a cautionary tale about the dangers of judging people based on their appearance.
“Narratives” is a bold and innovative album that challenges the boundaries of what Grime’s potential. It is a ‘must-listen’ for fans of Grime ; with a competitive take on a genre music that is loved all around the world – from London to Shanghai to Miami.
